I have created this page for
two main reasons. First, to help keep track of the changes I am making
to this web site and things that may need fixing. Secondly, so other
people accessing this web site can see quickly if there is something
new added to the system.
I haven't fully decided on the format of
this page but it should list things with the most current items at the
top. Older changes will be pushed down. I will try to include links so
you can go right to the new stuff.

Well, in the past month I
have made so many changes that I couldn't document each one as I made them.
The overall format for all of the pages have changed. I made it easier to
navigate from page to page. You can get from any-page to any-other-page
in usually one click.
I have eliminated a lot of the <textbox>
structures and switched over to dynamic paragraphs. Output from calculations
are now inserted directly into descriptive and highlighted sentences, instead
of <input> boxes.

Once again I made some changes
to the VHF/UHF Yagi Antenna Design page. The changes were to the
web pages that are generated when you press the view buttons. I split
the view pages into two colums and used some new graphics for the antenna
elements instead of the simple ascii characters.
On the view pages for the ARRL designs,
I removed the mast design and gave it it's own view page. As with the
design view pages, I split the view pages into two colums and used some
new graphics for the antenna elements instead of the simple ascii characters.

I added a page to the Antenna
section. The page is intended to describe the physical requirements
for the VHF/UHF Yagi Antenna Feed. Specific dimensions, except for the
length of the 1/2 Wavelength Phasing Loop, are not included because that
is to dependent on the materials available to the builder. Only the
Folded Dipole type of driven element is discussed. Other types
can be used, but that will have to wait till I have more time.

I finally finished the pages
for the High-Pass Active Filter and
Band-Pass Active Filter. The High-Pass page gave be a problem
due to an inefficiency in attempting to reverse calculate a filter.
This page doesn't actually do a reverse calculation but just presents
an estimate.
The Band-Pass filter, however, does do a reverse
calculation, yielding filter response from parts values. This section will,
at a later date, be split off to a page that allows users to insert part
values and determine filter responses. I'll use some real world examples
so you can see that advertised filter specs are not always correct.

I finally got my laptop back
and all of the data was recovered.
I changed all of the buttons/switches that
I had for navigating the site. Rather than graphic buttons I started
using the <button> structure. You can make a pretty nice button,
complete with custom background, using it this way. It also make them
easier to maintain. I have two filter pages to convert yet and then
I can delete the old buttons from the directories.
I added a drop down menu system on the
Javascript Electronic Notebook front page. This allows the user to skip
the index pages and go straight to page.
I finally re-worked the
VHF/UHF Yagi Antenna Design page. I changed the overall
coloring and setup to match all of the other pages. The navigation buttons
were changed and colors adjusted for a more pleasing look. There will
be a few more minor changes but not real soon.
I have started to add some statistic buttons
to all of the pages. In the end, each page will have one which will allow
me to get a better idea of what pages and features are most popular. I had
something similar from Bravenet but the stats were open to anyone and their
pages were so full of adverts that you could hardly see the data.

I upgraded to Windows XP Pro.
This also means that I upgraded all of my browsers. I am now testing on
Netscape 7.2 and Internet Explorer 6. I have no easy way of going backwards
and can no longer test on lesser versions.
My main computer crashed and I lost a little
data. Mostly it was just some cosmetic changes and doesn't affect any
of the Javascript programs. I will be getting a replacement some time
next week.

Some small bug fixes were implemented
in the VHF/UHF Yagi Antenna Design page. There were some small problems
with the element length calculations. Although they were within dimensional
tolerances, they needed to be corrected.
August 8, 2004
OK, so it's been a while since
I added anything to this page. But, a lot of things have been getting done.
I have been busy converting a lot of pages over to the new display format.
Overall it seems to look nicer.
My email has been very quiet for the past 2
weeks. Maybe no one is sending me notes, but I did find out that the form-mail
I was using is broken. It's been broken for a while so I don't know who
I am ignoring. I have switched over to another form-mail and we will see
how that works. Several form-mail sites have complained about spammers shutting
down their systems. I suspect this is the problem here. Anyway, I appologize
to those who tried to get through, but didn't. If you would try again I would
appreciate it.
July 23, 2004
Added a new look for the front page.
I think it make it easier to read and is a little more pleasing to
the eye. If you have any comments on it,
Send Me Some Email.
These cosmetic changes may turn up on the other pages but I may not
advertise them here.
July 19, 2004
I wanted to wait until I had all three,
low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass audio filters completed, but I thought
I would start by posting the
Low-Pass Active Filter page now and the others as I get
to them. The high-pass page will be identical to the low-pass page
except for the filter type. The band-pass page is actualy complete
but I want to go over it one more time.
More new buttons for the
Electronic Notebook front page.
Re-worked the
Help page for the Yagi Design program.
July 12, 2004
I came across some output errors in the
Short Center-Fed Dipole. The calculations were correct but
the metric output was missing some parentheses and converted the measurement
incorrectly.
July 11, 2004
Changed the front page slightly by adding
some buttons, rather than the icons. I think it looks cleaner but
E-Mail me
if you disagree because, I'm probably going to change the rest of the pages
to look the same.
I'm working on some pages for designing Active
Filters, on the side. I have two almost complete but want to finish up a third
before I put them up (hopefully this week).
